Chink Eyes in Buenos Aires

I just arrived in Buenos Aires, and checked into my first hostel. The cleaning lady saw me, asked me where I was from, how long I was staying, etc. I hadn’t used Spanish since I was in high school, and had difficulty understanding all the words coming from her mouth.

She started gesticulating and talking about her “esposo.” I just couldn’t get it.

Finally, she stopped, and put her hands on her hips.

“Mi esposo,” she pointed a finger at herself.

“Es Chino,” she put her fingers to the corner of her eyes, and pulled them back. The universal symbol for “Chinese,” apparently.

“Como vos,” and she pointed a finger at me.

Twenty minutes in this hostel, and already I was feeling right at home.

What’s up bro…I’m a NYC pua living in Manhattan. I’ll be traveling to BA, Argentina solo for three before meeting up with friends for two weeks of vacation in Jan ‘10. Any advice for pick-up in BA? Very little spanish on my end but I’m a real charmer. Any good spots I should hit? Any spots that I should stay away from and not waste my time?

Anything you can add would be great!

    THX!
